WHY DALLAS FLOODS THE WALLS WITH AS MUCH WATER AS POSSIBLE
Portland cement and Western One-Coat gain strength through hydration — a chemical reaction that requires water. If the base coat dries too fast it does not fully hydrate. The walls are weaker. Cracks are random and large. Dallas floods the walls with as much water as possible every day for 6 to 7 days. The walls crack out in controlled hairlines during this phase — that is correct and expected. After the Senergy color coat goes on, the walls are as hard as they will ever get. Dallas tells every customer this before the job starts. No surprises.
SUBSTRATE INSPECTION
Full inspection of sheathing and moisture barrier. Any damage found and documented on video before work begins.
DOUBLE-PLY BARRIER
Two layers Grade D paper. Every window, door, and penetration flashed before lath.
WIRE LATH
Self-furring metal lath at 6-inch centers. Corner bead and control joints at all structural transitions.
WESTERN ONE-COAT 3/4"
Monolithic base coat at 3/4 inch. Dense and consistent. Wall strength comes from here.
6–7 DAY WATER CURE
Maximum water every day. Controlled crackout during cure is correct. Walls reach maximum hardness.
